According to the Mayor of Tbilisi, old yellow buses running in Tbilisi will be replaced with new, eco-friendly, EU standard buses by the end of the year.
As Kakha Kaladze noted at today’s session, “transport policy is very important for the city”. He added that Asian Development Bank helps Georgia in this regard.
“The public is well aware of our approach that public transport should be the fastest and most comfortable. We have already taken a few steps in this direction, we have started to purchase new buses. The yellow buses will be completely replaced by the end of the year and we will have ecologically clean, Euro 6 type buses. The Asian Development Bank is assisting us in this process. In addition, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development helps us develop bus networks and directions, which is very important. As for the project of the Asian Development Bank - the general transport plan of the capital, it should have been completed in August, but due to the current situation, this date will be postponed until the end of the year”, - concluded Kakha Kaladze.
