It is clear that Georgians will not be able to travel abroad. Such a statement made today the Prime Minister of the country.
Giorgi Gakharia talked about this issue during the meeting with tourism sector representatives in Kutaisi.
“The Ministry of Health is already inspecting several hotels in the Imereti region to see which one is ready to host tourists. As you know, domestic tourism will be opened at the first stage and I am sure that domestic tourism will generate quite a serious demand.
The fact is that today Georgians cannot go abroad. Therefore, the first thing we need to do is to teach Georgians is to rest in Georgia and pay for Georgian tourism. Domestic tourism also has economic power. We should learn this quickly, meet the standards, and then be ready to receive guests from abroad. It will be difficult, but it is not impossible. We may be one of the first countries in the region to maintain this progress”, - concluded the Head of the Government.
