Within the framework of the 43rd session of the UN Human Rights Council, in Geneva, a resolution on the occupied territories of Georgia to be adopted. According to Mariam Narchemashvili, the Director of the Press and Information Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the document will focus on continuing the process of raising illegal barriers by the occupation forces.
“The resolution reaffirms its support for Georgia"s sovereignty and territorial integrity. The resolution expresses dissatisfaction with the situation regarding human rights in the occupied territories. The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia will address the participants of the Council”, - added Narchemashvili.
The UN Human Rights Council has annually adopted the resolution since 2017, which instructs the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights to submit reports on the issues raised in the resolution.
