The Parliament of Georgia approved the anti-crisis budget. The modified version of the document was supported by 84 votes at the plenary session.
The anti-crisis budget will amount to GEL 15 923 800 000. According to the prognosis, due to COVID-19, there will be a GEL 1.8 billion income deficit in the budget. The budget deficit will be 8.5%. The document also notes that the Georgian economy will decrease by 4%.
According to the project, the Ministries whose finances will see the most cut downs will be of Infrastructure, Education and Defence.
Financial resources allocated for ant-crisis measures amount to 3 bln and 4 mln GEL, according to the draft amendments. This amount will be spent on the assistance of socially vulnerable families, utility bills, businesses and their tax benefits, and other causes.
