What the United States would like to see is the constitutional amendments accepted and adopted by full parliament. Such a statement made today the United States Ambassador to Georgia.

“Our statement on the election reform clearly states that the ambassadors participating in the dialogue do not want to comment on specific details. This agreement was reached by Georgian political parties. It was a real success that they were able to reach March, 8 agreement, to compromise, now everyone wants to see that both parts of the agreement are being implemented.

There were now two votes on constitutional changes in the parliament. We hope that the constitutional amendments will have multi-party support. This will definitely prove the commitment of the democratic process in this country and create the right conditions for fair elections.
