Georgia has once again shown to the society and partners the readiness to hold democratic elections. Such a statement made today Archil Talakvadze, the Speaker of the Parliament.


During the special briefing he also thanked facilitator ambassadors as well as the citizens, MPs who supported constitutional changes.

“Georgia has once again shown the public and its partners the readiness to strengthen democracy and to hold free, democratic and transparent parliamentary elections in October 2020.


Now we will start working on the Electoral Code and the Parliament of Georgia will adopt amendments to the Electoral Code based on the recommendations of the OSCE / ODIHR within the next 10 days. By doing so, the government will fully comply with its promises and ensure a democratic, transparent and free electoral environment, as well as democratic elections”, - concluded Talakvadze.
