The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Davit Zalkaliani together with the Foreign Ministers of other EaP countries participated in the meeting with the European Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement, Oliver Varhelyi via video conferencing.
The participants discussed the post-2020 goals and priorities of Eastern Partnership. The Foreign Ministers and the European Commissioner also spoke about the preparations for the next summit of EaP and summarized the results of the video conference for EaP leaders held in June 2020.
Zalkaliani highlighted Georgia’s priorities being a greater focus on the Black Sea and its potential, on the security component, on the need to put the situation in Georgia’s occupied territories on the EU agenda, on access to the single market and on More for More principle. “It is important for us to ensure that Georgia’s efforts to speed up its integration with the EU is adequately assessed by our European Partners and this is reflected in concrete decisions” – said Davit Zalkaliani said.
