With 94 in favor and 4 against, the Georgian Parliament has approved Draft Amendments to the Election Code in the second reading. The project has been approved on several conditions which will be included in the third reading.

According to the MP Irakli Kobakhidze, one condition is about introducing the 25-meters radius around the polling stations where the exit polls are going to take place. With regards to the second condition, it concerns to equal approach towards qualified and non-qualified persons.

Representatives of the United National Movement and European Georgia did not attend today’s discussion.

The third reading of the Draft Amendments is scheduled for today.

The Draft Amendments to the Electoral Code were prepared on the basis of OSCE /ODIHR recommendations.
