Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Governor Alexander Motserelia resigns

According to the existing information, Motserelia will leave the post on August 1. Malkhaz Toria, his first deputy governor, will be acting governor. Toria was appointed as deputy governor on April 6, 2020. Previously, he worked in law enforcement agencies on different positions.

As it known, Motserelia was nominated by Georgian Dream as Abasha-Martvili-Tsalenjikha-Chkhorotsku’s majoritarian candidate. He has been holding the position of the Governor of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti since August 2018.
