MEP Anna Fotyga calls on the President of Georgia to pardon Giorgi Rurua

MEP Anna Fotyga commented on the court’s decision to sentence to Giorgi Rurua 4 years in prison.

“Many friends of Georgia view arrest and now sentencing of media owner Giorgi Rurua as political. I encourage the President of Georgia to use her powers as she did with other figures who were part of the March 8 Agreement. That would improve climate in the run up to elections”, - twitted Fotyga.

Today, July 30, the Court sentenced Giorgi Rurua to 4 years in prison.
