The Prosecutor’s office released a statement regarding the examination of Tamar Bachaliashvili’s car

The Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia is making another explanation about the ongoing investigation into the case of Tamar Bachaliashvili.

“As part of the complex examination of the case of Tamar Bachaliashvili’s death, on August 31, 2020, a vehicle belonging to T. Bachaliashvili was inspected, in which L. participated. Experts from the Samkharauli National Forensics Bureau received a representative of Hyundai Auto Georgia and a family lawyer.

During the inspection of the evidence, it was found that T. Bachaliashvili’s car Hyundai Accent was equipped with a non-factory locked central locking function, which is controlled by so-called “remote control”. No additional electrical equipment was found during the inspection. It was also confirmed that the central locking device of the vehicle, the braking system and the air conditioning were working properly.

In addition, a visual and computer inspection of the vehicle revealed that it was not equipped with GPS or any other similar device. However, no traces of mechanical damage were found on the vehicle, which would have caused oil or gasoline spills and would have been noticeable, both visually by the location and by visual inspection of the vehicle. However, the experts, with the participation of a lawyer, inspected the tires of the car, as a result of which no traces of towing, pulling or other artificial impact were found.

As for other information relevant to the case related to the car, it will be known after the completion of the examination”, - reads the statement.
