Health Ministry has been instructed to prepare 3,000 beds in the coming days, said today the Prime Minister of Georgia.
“Unfortunately, the number of infected people is increasing globally and in Georgia too. We all understand that any step taken today will have both strong critics and supporters, but we must do our best in the interests of our citizens.
There is no reason to panic with regard to the increase in the number of infected people in Georgia today, because the epidemiologists and the clinical team, as well as the government, are fully controlling the risks of pandemic, but this does not mean that we should not take extra measures or tighten the enforcement of the existing measures.
The most important thing is discipline in enforcing the rules that we have all adopted together. We have always said and will repeat today that no country, including Georgia, cannot cope with the pandemic alone.
Today on average 8 000 PCR tests are performed in Georgia, the number will increase to 10 000 in the near future”, - said Giorgi Gakharia.
