Despite the coronavirus pandemic, the 2020 parliamentary elections are not in danger. Such a statement made today the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia.
“At this moment, Georgia remains a country with green status in the green zone. This means that the spread of COVID-19 is under the control of the Government and health services. Mass testing and medical assistance are provided to all who need the above. Today, elections or the pre-election campaign are not in danger. No restrictions are imposed in this regard. If we need to take any measures to protect the safety of our citizens, of course, the Coordination Council under the leadership of the Head of the Government will make such a decision.
I want to assure you that the elections will not be hampered by this process and the elections are not in any danger at this moment. Elections will be held in a free, safe and democratic environment”, - said Archil Talakvadze.
