Some political party activists are being blackmailed by publishing footage of their personal lives, said today the Public Defender of Georgia.

“These persons are not ready to speak publicly about this, but we have communicated with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and we are ready, if they wish, to assist in the effective investigation and to ensure confidentiality. Such facts are very alarming. I hope all the alleged victims will apply to the investigation, and the investigation will be objective”, - said Nino Lomjaria.

She added that earlier practices of previous years show that “practically no one has been held accountable for violent actions committed during the pre-election period”.
