The officers of Vake-Saburtalo Police Division under Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of immediate operative-search and investigative activities detained two persons with previous convictions - R.K. (DoB 1968) and D.M. (DoB 1970) in Tbilisi for armed robbery committed in group.

The committed crime envisages from 6 to 9 years of imprisonment.

Investigation established that being under the alcohol influence, detainees got into a taxi on the crossing of Vazha- Pshavela Avenue and Asatiani Street. One of the detainees hit the taxi driver- A.Z. (DoB 1972) with a blunt object in head area, while the other one tied him up and appropriated his belongings under the pressure of the sharp object.

Law enforcers seized illegally appropriated items as evidence.

Investigation is in progress on the fact of armed robbery committed in group, article 179, II part, sub-paragraph “B” and “C” of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
