The officers of Isani-Samgori police division under Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of operative and investigative activities detained three, previously convicted persons: D.K. (DoB 1975) M.J. (DoB 1979), Z.Sh. (DoB 1980) as well as L.G. (DoB 1990) on the basis of the relevant court decision, for causing severe health damage on purpose committed in group.

Committed crime envisages from 7 to 10 years of imprisonment.

The investigation established that on September 30 of the recent year, Temur Shubitidze, born in 1991, a member of the Georgian Dream - Democratic Georgia party, an advisor to the chairman of the Marneuli local council (“Sakrebulo”), was driving on the Zemo Ponichala-Marneuli highway, when his vehicle was hit by “Opel” made vehicle on purpose in which the mentioned persons were traveling. They physically assaulted Temur Shubitidze and fled from the place of crime.

Temur Shubitidze was transferred to the hospital by the ambulance crew, where he was diagnosed with multiple fragmentary fractures of the facial bones and underwent emergency surgery.

As a result of operative-investigative activities law enforcers managed to detain the assailants.
