The adoption of the draft law on common courts was extremely important - Irakli Kobakhidze

The adoption of the draft law on common courts was extremely important, said today Irakli Kobakhidze, the executive secretary of the Georgian Dream, while commenting on the statement of the Venice Commission, in which the commission regrets that the draft law on common courts was approved in the last reading.

“We explained to our partners, including the Venice Commission, that the Parliament of the ninth convocation was finishing its work, there was no other chance for this Parliament to pass this law.

The adoption of this law by the Parliament of this convocation was important for the proper continuation of the proceedings in the judiciary. Therefore, we made this decision.

The Venice Commission report also reflects the progress made in line with the Venice Commission recommendations. There were three fundamental recommendations and all three recommendations are properly reflected in the draft law adopted by us”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
