Davit Gareji is not really funny for us, said the Chairman of the Parliament Archil Talakvadze, while commenting the statement of MEP Andrius Kubilius regarding Davit Gareji.

“He said that the topic of Davit Gareji, which is of interest to the public today, is funny. Davit Gareji is not really funny to us. Personally, I am surprised by this comment. The person who represents the European structures speaks with such an attitude about the issue of national importance for us - it is unacceptable.

Davit Gareji will never be funny. Whenever we have meetings in the European Parliament or in other European formats in the future, of course, we will state our position in this regard. I hope Mr. Kubilius will clarify his statements. We will not allow anyone to label the issue of Davit Gareji or any of our cultural heritage as funny”, - said Archil Talakvadze.
