Out of 1759 new cases of coronavirus, 686 were detected in Tbilisi and 487 in Adjara

As of today, 1 759 new cases of COVID infection have been confirmed within the last 24 hours. It was announced by Berdia Sichinava, Deputy Head of Task Force operating under the Inter-Agency Coordination Council at a press-briefing held at the Government Administration today.


“As of today, 1 759 new cases of COVID infection have been confirmed within the last 24 hours. Since detection of the first case of COVID-19, the total number of confirmed cases has reached 24 562. Daily recovery rate has reached 350 in the last 24 hours, thus making the total recovery rate equal to 9 751.


Unfortunately, 5 people died of the virus in the last 24 hours, thus making the total mortality rate equal to 183 since February 26, 20202.


Out of the 1 759 cases detected today, 686 were identified in Tbilisi, 487 - in Adjara, 356 - in Imereti, 36 - in Kvemo Kartli, 35 - in Shida Kartli, 17 - in Guria, 69 - in Samegrelo and Zemo Svaneti, 24 - in Kakheti, 12 - in Mtskheta-Mtianeti, 30 - in Samtskhe-Javakheti, and 7 - in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti.
