Officers of the Kvemo Kartli Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of operative-investigative activities solved the fact of armed robbery that took place on October 23 in Kvemo Kartli region.

Two persons have been detained on the charges of armed robbery committed in group, namely: L.I. (DoB 1987) who had been convicted in past and I.K. (DoB 1992).

The committed crime envisages from 8 to 12 years of imprisonment.

The investigation established that the accused persons had illegally accessed the house located near to Bediani gorge, Kldeisi village, Tetritskaro municipality, owned by foreign couple - citizen of China P.K. and Australian citizen- J.F.

L.I. and I.K. handcuffed the couple and their two children and under the pressure of the firearm and cold steel as well as threats of liquidation, illegally appropriated 16100 GEL, laptop, mobile phone and fled from the place of crime. Assailants left the crime scene by the vehicle owned by J.F.

The law enforcers detected the stolen vehicle abandoned on the territory of Tetritskaro municipality soon after the incident.

As a result of the investigative activities carried out within the frames of the ongoing investigation, part of the appropriated cash was seized as well as laptop and mobile phone as evidence.

Investigation is in progress on the fact of armed robber, article 179, II and III parts under the Criminal Code of Georgia.
