District commissions have to hold meetings and discuss complaints amid pressure - CEC

The district election commissions have to hold sessions and discuss complaints amid the pressure. Such a statement made today the Head of the Human Resources Management Department of the Central Election Commission.

“First of all, it should be noted that the district election commissions have to hold sessions and discuss complaints against the background of pressure. In some cases, there are attempts by unauthorized persons to intrude into the sessions. Although all parties involved in the elections, including representatives of political parties, majoritarian candidates, know legally who is the person authorized to attend the DEC sessions, they demand that the commissions violate the law and allow unauthorized persons to attend the sessions. In addition, they all have their own representative who is authorized to attend the session, despite the above, they spread false information, deliberately try to disrupt the process, discredit the election administration and the election process.

We want to remind you that in accordance with the election legislation, the following persons are authorized to attend the meetings: accredited media representatives, 1 representative of an election subject in the relevant district election commission, 1 observer of a local observer organization, 2 observers (with a translator) of an international organization registered with the CEC”, - said Giorgi Kalandarishvili.
