The Secretary of State of the United States of America met with the Catholicos Patriarch of All Georgia at the Patriarchate. The US Embassy responds to the meeting between Mike Pompeo and Ilia II:

“Secretary Pompeo was pleased to meet with His Holiness, Georgian Orthodox Church Patriarch Ilia II. During the meeting, the Secretary and His Holiness discussed Georgia’s important role in promoting and protecting religious freedom around the world”, - reads the statement of the Embassy.
