The 6th session of the Georgia-EU Association Committee to be held virtually

The 6th session of the Georgia-EU Association Committee to be held virtually today, December, 15.


Deputy Managing Director for Europe and Central Asia of the European External Action Service Luke Devine will head the meeting based on a rotation principle. The Georgian delegation will be chaired by the First Deputy Foreign Minister Vakhtang Makharoblishvili.


The Association Committee is one of the main cooperation formats between Georgia and the EU discussing the implementation of the commitments as per the Georgia-EU Association Agreement. Participants will discuss such issues, as the reforms ongoing or carried out by Georgia in trade, transport, communications, energy, and education spheres. The Committee will also consider Georgia-EU cooperation in the security sphere and the EU’s role in a peaceful resolution of the Russia-Georgia conflict.
