Without restrictions, we can have 5 000 new cases per day by the end of January. Such a statement made today the Head of the National Center for Disease Control.
If at the beginning of December we were in the first place according to the number of new cases in Europe and at some point in the world, now we are somewhere in the eighth place in Europe and 12th place in the world, meaning that this rate is decreasing, as well as the mortality rate. As you know, we have a mortality rate of 1% in the country and the recovery rate is quite good - 92%.
During the last month, especially in the last 2 weeks, there has been a decrease in the infection rate in the country. All the indicators are already decreasing. All this indicates that the situation is calming down in the country, but it does not give us any reason to calm down, as if we do not follow the regulations, the situation may worsen any moment. Without restrictions, we can have 5 000 new cases per day by the end of January”, - said Amiran Gamkreludze.
