The Parliamentary Health and Social Affairs Committee backed the amendments into the Law on Public Health.
Based on the proposed draft, the Law on Public Health defines the government’s responsibility within the framework of national calendar vaccinations.
“Georgia has to meet certain conditions to receive the coronavirus vaccine on time. The Government needs to ensure free medical service and rehabilitation if side effects or complications. The exception would be cases when the medical personnel or medical institution’s mistake causes the side effects or complications. This will help to strengthen the credibility of the timely introduction of a vaccine in Georgia and the timely start of vaccination”, - said Tamar Gabunia, the Deputy Health Minister.
