The officers of Borjomi police division under Samtskhe-Javakheti police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of operative and investigative activities, exposed G.K. (DoB 1995) for domestic violence against an under-aged person.

Committed crime envisages up to 3 years of imprisonment.

The investigation established that detainee verbally and physically assaulted his sister, M.K. (DoB 2004) on the grounds of gender intolerance and discrimination.

The restraining order was issued against G.K. to prevent the abuser from committing repeated violence. In addition, electronic surveillance was also imposed against G.K. An electronic bracelet was attached to the abuser, which will be used to monitor the victim"s approach to pre-determined locations.

Fulfillment of the imposed obligations is mandatory. Avoidance of electronic surveillance will result in a criminal responsibility under the Criminal Code of Georgia.

The investigation is in progress on the fact of domestic violence against member of the family, article 126, II part, sub-paragraph “A” of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
