The officers of District Inspectors and Detectives Divisions under Adjara Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of operative-investigative activities detained A.K. (DoB 1990) for drug-related crime. A.K. is accused of illegal purchase and keeping of drugs in especially large quantities.

Committed crime envisages up to 20 years or lifetime imprisonment.

Within the frames of the ongoing investigation, as a result of operative-investigative activities held on the basis of the relevant court decision, it was established that detainee was involved in illegal drug realization scheme through internet. In particular, by means of specific internet application and social networks, detainee used to place drugs at various locations for further realization in Batumi and videotaped the locations.

As a result of the personal search and search activities held in detainee’s temporary place of residence, and during the investigative experiment, law enforcers seized 7 packages of the “Heroin” drug and a small-sized scale.

Investigation is in progress under the article 260, part VI, sub-paragraph “A” of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
