The trial of the Chairman of the United National Movement, will be held in the Tbilisi City Court today. The court will discuss the revision of the measure of restraint - bail ordered for Nika Melia.
The Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia applied to Tbilisi City Court with a motion to change the measure of restraint yesterday. Prosecutor demands the use of a more severe measure of restraint against the Chairperson of the UNM party - detention, as it is a proportionate measure.
Nika Melia calls the current process politically motivated and does not intend to go to court.
According to Nika Melia"s lawyer, the defense intends to request that the measure of restraint against Nika Melia be revoked, as there are no grounds neither for detention, nor for any other measure.
