Nika Melia is a criminal, the police arrested him this morning as a result of a highly professional special operation. Such a statement made today the Prime Minister of Georgia, while commenting the detention of the UNM Chairman.

“Once again I want to say that Nika Melia is a criminal. In another case, the Cartu Bank bankruptcy case, he has been convicted and the court has ruled that he is a criminal. This is the second case in connection with which the police arrested him this morning as a result of a highly professional special operation.

Melia is accused of organization of an attack on the Parliament. He and his accomplices decided to try the strength of our state. We are building a state governed by the rule of law. Everyone, regardless of their political affiliation or taste, is obliged to obey the law”, - said Irakli Gharibashvili.
