SKI CROSS World Cup stage to start in Bakuriani today, February 26. Qualies on Friday, 26, finals on Saturday, 27 and world premiere of the ski cross mixed team event on Sunday, 28.

3 new aerial lifts were built, an artificial snow system was installed, and special equipment and safety gear were created just for the competition.

During the event, Georgia will host almost 200 athletes, Ski Cross Director Klaus Waldner, and other representatives of the federation.

Similar to other mountain resorts around the globe, Bakuriani was closed this winter season, though the competition will be held without complications and in line with FSI protocol, rules, and regulations. The resort will resume regular operation on March 8, with aerial lifts standing by.

Thanks to the World Cup, Georgia will have a chance to position among the countries able to organize safe high-level mountain sports events.
