EU supports Georgia’s territorial integrity, you are not alone - Charles Michel acquainted with the situation along the occupation line

It is very important for me to tell the locals that they are not alone. The EU is doing its best for peace, stability and security. Such a statement made today the European Council President Charles Michel in the village of Khurvaleti, where he viewed the situation along the occupation line.

“At the same time, it is important to strengthen ties between Georgia and the European Union, as well as to introduce the necessary reforms that are needed not for Europe, but for the people of Georgia.

It was very important for me to see the situation on the ground with my own eyes. You know that the EU supports Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Representatives of the European Union Monitoring Mission also play a very important role in this regard in order to maintain a stable situation on the ground as much as possible. We know that the situation is quite complex and difficult for the locals, so it is very important for me to tell the locals that you are not alone, the EU is doing its best for peace, stability and security.

The rule of law, the fight against corruption and the development of an ambitious economic plan are important challenges for Georgia. In Georgia, Europe and everywhere in the world we will work on a recovery strategy that is important for the population. We will also try to play an important role in the field of vaccination to show our very concrete solidarity”, - said Charles Michel.
