Members of Lelo demand to launch an investigation into the secret audio recordings released two days ago. Kakha Kozhoridze, Tornike Artkmeladze, Levan Samushia and others have filed an official statement to the Prosecutor General’s Office.

According to Kozhoridze, the failure of the Prosecutor’s office to launch an investigation clearly means disobedience to Georgian law and obedience to the ruling party.

“The Code of Criminal Procedure explicitly states that disseminating information through the media that contains signs of a crime directly imposes an obligation on the prosecution to initiate an investigation. We, as lawyers, say that the non-initiation of an investigation by the Prosecutor’s Office clearly means a declaration of disobedience to the legislation of Georgia and a declaration of obedience to the ruling party”, - said Kakha Kozhoridze.
