Georgia will continue AstraZeneca vaccination - Ekaterine Tikaradze

Georgia will not halt the use of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine. Such a statement made today the Minister of Health Ekaterine Tikaradze.

She talked about this issue after the meeting with experts, during which the first alleged anaphylactic reaction case developed after the vaccine was discussed.

“A few minutes ago, the EU’s drug watchdog opinion has been publicized. It has been recognized as a safe vaccine, the benefits of which outweigh the risks, with this serving as proof that the need of the termination of vaccination does not exist. The vaccination process in Georgia will run smoothly”, - added the Minister.

A 27-year-old nurse developed an anaphylactic reaction after the AstraZeneca COVID-19 shot earlier today. She was hospitalized in a critical condition in the First University Clinic.
