The Government is ready to the compromise, I do not expect any sanctions - Davit Zalkaliani

The Government of Georgia is ready to the compromise, I do not expect any sanctions. Such a statement made today the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

“I can’t even imagine such scenario. Unfortunately, the opposition only dreams of making the situation in Georgia as difficult as possible and sanctions to be imposed on the country to use it to come to power. This is their agenda, nothing more.

I share and support that we should adopt a resolution where there will be a call for both sides and I do not see a problem in that. But I remind you the pre-election period, how boldly they said that a resolution would be adopted, an act of expropriation would be adopted, a national defense act would be adopted, where sanctions would be imposed directly, have we seen all this? - nothing!

As a representative of this Government, I can tell you with full responsibility that we, through our consistent steps, will once again show our key strategic partners both in Europe and in the United States how consistent Georgia is with its commitments”, - said Davit Zalkaliani.
