56-year-old man has reportedly drowned in the village of Zemo Alvani, Akhmeta.

According to the existing information, he was tending sheep when he tried to cross the Alazani on horseback. But he failed to do so as the strong current swept him away.

Rescue efforts were underway for a few hours, with rescuers finding the horse first and the deceased man afterward.
