The Commission of Inquiry into the 2020 parliamentary elections is not a formal commission, as it also needs the involvement of the opposition. Such a statement made today the EU Ambassador to Georgia.

“At the same time, it is too early to talk about what will be revealed as a result of the work of this commission and how relevant these findings will be for future processes”, - said Carl Hartzell.

At the moment, the session of the commission is starting. The members of the commission will meet with the representatives of the diplomatic missions accredited in Georgia and local organizations monitoring the elections.

The opposition is not going to participate in the commission of inquiry.
