Opposition parties meet with the representatives of NGOs over changes in election legislation

Representatives of opposition parties are meeting with NGOs. They are discussing changes to the election law.

The meeting is organized by the American Republican Institute.

Opposition members claim that Tamar Zhvania has zero public trust, that’s why changes are necessary.

“The rules of conducting elections are fundamentally changing in order to increase confidence in the electoral process. The first issue is that technology is being introduced for the first time, we are talking about three types of technology: face recognition software, new type of ballots, and protection of votes under a high-resolution camera.

Besides, the administration is changing in principle. According to the current system, the Georgian Dream has 10 out of 12 members, now there will have 17 members, of which 9 will be nominated by parties and 8 will be nominated on a professional basis”, - said Paata Manjgaladze, a member of Strategy Aghmashenebeli.
