The representatives of the parliamentary opposition - Lelo, Citizens, Strategy Aghmashenebeli and Girchi - and the Georgian Dream are holding a meeting with the Speaker of the Parliament Kakha Kuchava. The main topic of discussion is the Amnesty Law.

Both amnesty projects will be discussed at the meeting. If the parties still do not agree on a single document, both drafts will be submitted to the legislators in the first reading at the plenary session of the Parliament.

Two independent documents initiated by the Georgian Dream and the opposition have already been considered by human rights and legal affairs committees.

Both committees supported the ruling team’s amnesty bill, so the alternative bill submitted by Shalva Shavgulidze failed to receive the support of the committees.
