Some anti-state forces are trying to discredit police, which is completely unacceptable. Such a statement made today the Prime Minister of Georgia at an event dedicated to the Police Day.

“Many of you sacrificed their lives to this heroic activity. I bow before the memory of the heroic policemen who sacrificed their most precious lives to our country and our people.

I want to thank their families, parents, spouses, children and I want to tell them that the state stands by you. Knowing the gravity of your work, I want to tell you that there is nothing more precious, more honorable than serving your homeland and your people.

Unfortunately, some anti-state forces are constantly trying to discredit the activities of the police and police officers, which is completely unacceptable. The state will be uncompromising in relation to any such attempt and we will not allow our decent policemen to be discredited.

We need to do even more for you, to improve your social conditions, to secure your social guarantees. Today, the police are a politically neutral agency. We are proud of you”, - said Irakli Garibashvili.
