Latvia will allocate 15,000 doses of coronavirus vaccine to Georgia. Such a statement made today Latvian Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkēvičs after the meeting with his Georgian counterpart David Zalkaliani.
Foreign Minister of Latvia underscored the importance of joint efforts in the fight against coronavirus. He also talked about the resumption of direct flights and hoped that the air traffic would shortly return to pre-COVID-19 level.
Davit Zalkaliani said that Edgars Rinkēvičs visit is a clear expression of the result-oriented partnership between our countries and Latvia’s clear message of support to Georgia.
“Latvia is Georgia’s closest ally and the country especially appreciates the loyalty and friendship that Latvia and Minister Edgars Rinkēvičs have shown towards Georgia over the years. Today, when the relations between Georgia and the EU are at a high level, Latvia is one of the active and loyal partners of Georgia on the path of European integration”, - added Zalkaliani.
