The Prime Minister of Georgia presented the written report on the implementation of the Government program to the Parliament.

The document covers June 2020 - May 2021 period and reviews foreign relations - NATO and EU integration, conflict resolution, pandemic difficulties, as well as regional development and governance.

According to the report, Georgia’s sustainable development, as well as its cultural and historical mission, is linked to rapid integration into European and Euro-Atlantic structures. And Government is actively working on the modernization and reform of each sector and sector.

Repot underlines that the pandemic has had negative impact on the pace of world development and the Government is working hard to overcome new challenges in the short term.

“Despite the challenges, there is progress in the four key areas of the government program: foreign policy, security, conflict resolution and human rights. Planned steps are being taken for Georgia to apply for EU membership in 2024. During the reporting period, the cooperation became more intensive, both at the highest political level and at the institutional level.

Relations with the US, the country’s main strategic ally, are at the highest level.

The Government uses all diplomatic instruments and international formats for the peaceful resolution of the Russian-Georgian conflict. Active work is underway in this process to mobilize the support of the international community and partners. Work continues to overcome the challenges posed by the Russian occupation.

Reform is underway to strengthen Georgia’s national security architecture”, - reads the report.
