I do not interfere in the activities of the theaters and all the theaters decide for themselves, said today the Minister of Culture, Tea Tsulukiani, while commenting Rustaveli Theater’s plan to participate in the Chekhov Festival in Moscow.
“There were televisions, flagships that were pointing fingers at me, when I was appointed Minister of Culture, that I could interfere in the activities of the creative people.
Therefore, I will tell you, I do not interfere in the activities of theaters and all theaters decide for themselves. This is called creative freedom - deciding at which international festival to go on tour. In this case, it seems, we are dealing with the international theater festival, which takes place in Russia. In this decision all theaters and all artistic directors are free. There is no censorship in our Ministry”, - said Tea Tsulukiani.
