Zaza Gakheladze turns today 34. His family and relatives will hold a protest rally in the village of Kvemo Chala. They demand the release of Zaza Gakheladze. Besides, his father plans to move to occupied territory on son’s birthday in order to be able to meet him in this way.

At the same time, yesterday Bishop of Samtavisi and Kaspi Dioceses father Damian and Metropolitan Bishop of Ateni Diocese father Andria have visited his family. The religious leaders said after the meeting that Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II plans to send a letter to the Russian patriarch regarding the issue of the detained Georgian.

The so-called court of the occupied Tskhinvali region has sentenced Zaza Gakhaladze to 12 years and 6 months behind bars.
