The interviews for selecting the Central Election Commission chairperson and member candidates will start today.
Nika Simonishvili, GYLA Chairman and a member of the selection commission set up by the President, said that the interview process shall end tomorrow and the selected candidates should be presented to Salome Zourabichvili.
“11 applications were submitted to the CEC chairperson, 8 of them reached the interview stage, three were rejected because they had submitted unclear documents, mostly in non-Georgian language. The documents of 2 of these 8 candidates are defective and they have time until 12:00 to correct them.
As for the CEC candidates, 17 applications were submitted, one of which was rejected due to the fact that no document was attached to the application. 16 moved on to the interview stage”,- explained Nika Simonishvili.
