Jim Risch, a leading Republican Senator, says that attacks on journalists, tourists and civil society are to be condemned. As the Senator noted, he prays for Lekso Lashkarava and his family and those responsible for the violence must be brought to justice.

“The rule of law helps peaceful demonstrators, not violent criminals. At the same time, the senator says that the Georgian government needs to better protect constitutional rights”, - writes Risch.

Minister for Foreign Affairs of Sweden, Chairperson-in-Office of the OSCE Ann Linde also has responded to cameraman’s death and the latest developments in Georgia.

“Chocked by the tragic death of Lekso Lashkarava. My deepest condolences to his family and friends. Violence against journalists and members of LGBTIQ community completely unacceptable and needs to be deplored. The perpetrators must be brought to justice”, - twitted Linde.
