The Parliament of Georgia listened to the 2020 report of the Insurance State Supervision Service

The insurance sector maintains stability despite the pandemic and even demonstrates a great potential of development, said the Chair of the Budget and Finance Committee at the sitting of the Supervisory Board of the Insurance State Supervision Service.

According to Irakli Kovzanadze, the debt insurance bonus in 2020 increased by 42.3 ml. GEL to constitute 667,3 ml. GEL.

“Mostly, the growth is witnessed in the healthcare and property insurance directions. Today, there are 18 insurance companies positioning at the market with 279.1 ml. GEL capital in total”, - he added.

During the sitting the Head of the ISSS, David Onoprishvili introduced the report for 2020 and the plans. The parties touched upon the 6-month data of 2021 and the impact of the pandemic on the insurance market.
