Olympic champion Zurab Zviadauri is to be charged today. He is now in a cell for pre-detention, exercising his right to silence.

Zurab Zviadauri has been arrested on charges of premeditated murder, after 3 individuals, including Zviadauri’s brother, were killed in Kakheti. Besides, in connection with the same fact, police charged J.J., born in 1977, with negligent possession of a firearm, which resulted in the loss of human life.

On August 16, in the vicinity of the village of Tsinandali, the quarrel between several people turned into a physical confrontation. During the confrontation, V.C., born in 1971, opened fire from a firearm registered in the name of J.J., who is currently detained, which was responded by shooting by N.K, born in 1994. As a result of the shooting carried out by N.K., 4 persons were wounded, 2 of which died on the spot.

Zviadauri also fired from a firearm, during which N.K., born in 1994, was fatally wounded.
