Mikheil Saakashvili’s statement is clearly aimed at discrediting and politicizing the army. Such a statement made today the Minister of Defense, while commenting a video, posted by the former president, where he says that “Bidzina Ivanishvili wants a weak Georgia and doesn’t need the army”.

“It is a lie and absurdity as if the transfer of apartments to the military was carried out on the principle of nepotism”, - said Juansher Burchuladze.

He reminded the former president of his commitment to the military during his rule in 2007, which was fulfilled and the military was provided with apartments under the current government.

“The professionalism of the Georgian military and the high level of training are confirmed by the assessments of international partners”, - added the Minister.
