We are certainly interested in how election day is going on, but we are also observing the election process as a whole, said today Albert Jonsson, the Head of the OSCE/ODIHR EOM.
“The main group of observers consists of 12 members and there are also long-term observers in the regions and in Tbilisi, and all together there are more than 300 observers.
As for me personally, I am going to visit several polling stations in Tbilisi and of course I will not have a full overview, therefore our other observers are present in many polling stations and we are covering these polling stations.
We are certainly interested in how E-day is going on, but we are also observing the election process as a whole. Therefore, my team has been in Georgia for 5 weeks to study the election process. So this is a comprehensive process. E-day is important, of course, but it"s just the tip of the iceberg.
We have been observing the election process for several weeks, we are coming to a conclusion and tomorrow there will be a press conference where we will present the preliminary findings and conclusions”, - added the Ambassador.
