The US Secretary of Defense, who is on an official visit to Georgia, says that Russia must respect the 2008 ceasefire agreement.

“Russia, which occupies 20% of Georgia’s territory, should respect the 2008 ceasefire agreement before talking about any new platform”, - said Lloyd Austin.

During the visit, Lloyd Austin will also hold a meeting with Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili. The US Secretary of Defense will visit one of the military bases of the Georgian Defense Forces and will attend a joint exercise with the participation of American and Georgian servicemen.
